About GIS Ltd

GIS Ltd is a leading UK manufacturer and supplier of electric chain hoists and control systems across the industrial and entertainment sectors. Based on the Wirral, Merseyside our team has grown in expertise and knowledge since it was founded in 2004. Using only the highest quality materials we manufacture and supply lifting products from GIS AG, PLANETA-Hebetechnik GmbH, G-Pro and Guardian. Originally the sole UK agent for GIS AG since 2010, we became part of the GIS Company in 2018.

We offer a wide range of products across the UK including GIS Electric Chain Hoists and Trolleys, Guardian Control Systems, Flight Cases, and Manual Handling Equipment. Although we do specialise in lifting products for the industrial and entertainment industries, we also provide lifting equipment and other products for companies within Engineering, Construction, Energy sectors and more.

Product portfolio

We offer equipment and solutions including GIS electric chain hoists and trolleys, control systems for industrial and entertainment applications, crane end carriages, GISKB track systems and vacuum lifting equipment. We also stock manual lifting and handling equipment from Planeta, including manual hoists, trolleys and clamps as well as electric winches.

Foundation

Founded in 2004 under the name Lift Turn Move (LTM), the company was acquired by Swiss electric chain hoist manufacturer GIS in 2017 and renamed GIS Ltd in 2023.

Markets

GIS provides equipment to assist in lifting, handling, supporting, turning or moving many types of loads. We supply an extensive range of equipment for use within the engineering, logistics, construction, utilities and energy industries. GIS also supplies the professional leisure, entertainment and theatre industries.

Location

We are located in Bromborough on the banks of the River Mersey.

Distribution

As an equipment supplier, we do not offer services such as site surveys, installation, on-site inspection, maintenance and training. As such our equipment is available through a network of value added re-sellers who can provide a total solution.

Headquarters

GIS AG is a Swiss company with around 130 employees, which was founded in 1957. The production and development site is in Schötz, Canton of Lucerne.

LEEA Certification

All sales, technical and workshop staff hold a range of LEEA qualifications and LEEA Team Cards and receive ongoing product training. Our processes are audited and verified by LEEA (Lifting Equipment Engineers Association) of which we are a full member.
